Business development manager – Maritime Autonomy and Fleet Management

Working directly with the CEO and the executive team, you will shape and execute the go-to-market strategy for Hyke’s suite of Maritime technology solutions, including situational awareness, autonomous navigation, remote operations, and fleet management.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Create and execute the go-to-market strategy for Hyke’s suite of Maritime Autonomy and fleet management solutions.
  • Propose sales budgets for the segment and then lead all efforts to deliver on this budget, including identifying target customers, establishing sales channels, building market awareness, developing the pipeline, and converting prospects into paying customers.
  • This role requires you to be (become) a thought-leader on situational awareness, autonomous navigation, remote operations and smart fleet management in the maritime industry. You need to be on top of all key industry trends and be seen as a credible member of the international community of practice.

Some of your daily tasks might be:

  • Analyze the market by reviewing market reports, interviewing customers, networking in academic and industry organizations, studying competitor moves, etc.
  • Work closely with key customers to deeply understand their fundamental jobs, pains and gains, using these insights to inform product strategies and articulate powerful value propositions by segment.
  • Define and execute go-to-market strategy for Hyke’s suite of situational awareness, autonomous navigation, and fleet management solutions.
  • Communicate this strategy and establish a shared vision with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a list of prospective customers and maintain records over business development and sales activities in the CRM system.
  • Develop product and pricing structures for different functionalities and customer segments, in cooperation with Product management.
  • Create convincing and powerful pitches for our solutions in relation to customers’ situation, differentiating as required by industry segment and product category.
  • Develop business models and build strategic partnerships required for a scalable go-to-market strategy.
  • Take a life-cycle perspective on customer value, ensuring sustainable value delivery and capture.

Skills and mindsets we expect you to bring:

  • Proven track record in selling and delivering high-tech solutions to B2B customers in an international market, preferably in the maritime, automotive, aviation, mobility, logistics, transportation, or similar industries.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills, enabling you to creatively find workable commercial solutions in the field between customers’ needs and requirements and our capabilities and priorities.
  • Analytical and consultative mindset, enabling you to take a long-term approach to developing prospects into paying customers.
  • An entrepreneurial drive and a love of spotting, creating and capturing business opportunities, shaping attractive value propositions that maximize value both for customers, our channel partners and ourselves.
  • You are flexible, inquisitive, open, self-driven and able to work both independently and as part of a multi-cultural and diverse team.
  • You feel a sense of responsibility and urgency in getting things done.
  • Strong communications skills, so you can deeply connect with customers’ situation and effectively communicate the benefits of our offering.

Formally, you probably have:

  • A Bachelor or Master’s degree in engineering, Business Administration / Management, Product Management, Economics, Marketing, or other related fields.
  • 4+ years’ experience with technology-powered products as Business Development Manager, Product Marketing Manager, or similar.
  • Fluency in English – knowledge of additional major languages is highly desirable.
